Australian Rally Championship: Eli Evans tests the JAS Honda Civic R 3
Australian Rally star Eli Evans had his first
outing in the Honda Civic Type R and declared himself ready to go for the 2010
Australian Rally Championship, which gets under way in Tasmania from February
26 to 28.
On a hot and steamy day at the Broadford
Motorsport complex, Evans and co-driver Glen Weston completed over 40 laps of
the twisty circuit, to dial themselves into the new car.
Evans was pleased with the overall performance
of the Civic Type R and made only made minor suspension tweaks throughout the
day.
Eli Evans: “Today was very productive and gave Glen and
I the chance to familiarize ourselves with the Civic Type R. We played around
with a few different things just to see how the car reacts to changes and I
feel very comfortable with it. I can’t wait for the chance to show its
potential in Tasmania.”
Mads Fischer , JAS Motorsport Rally Project Leader , is very pleased of the
first test “ I am happy of the Australian Campaign first step : a great challenge, but we are conscious of
the driver skill and of the car potential and therefore we believe to have all
the ingredients to face this exciting adventure in Australia”
