Civic Type R TCR back on top step in Chinese Taipei

The Honda Civic Type R TCR scored another victory last weekend as Shi Shiwei moved into the lead of the TCR Chinese Taipei Series.

Shiwei, the 2023 title winner, qualified second for FIST-Team AAI and finished the opening race in that position too, but made a terrific start to Race Two aboard his JAS Motorsport-built touring car.

Resisting intense pressure from behind, he suffered contact from his championship rival, leading to a race-ending incident for his assailant, but Shiwei was able to continue and recorded his third win of the year.

In Class C, Joe Cheng won both races for Pit 58 Racing Team and now needs only to finish one of the last two races of the season to seal the title.

Yishung Racing's Edison Huang made it a Honda one-two in Race Two and was third in the earlier encounter.
