More title success on winning weekend for Civic Type R TCR
The Honda Civic Type R TCR claimed its sixth major title of 2025 as Joe Chen sealed the TCR Chinese Taipei Class C crown at Lihpao.

Joe Chen needed only to qualify inside the top three in Class C to wrap up the crown in his Pit 58 Racing Civic Type R TCR and this he did on Saturday morning. It was the 119th title in total for the JAS Motorsport-built touring car.
From there, the local driver scored a category win in Race One ahead of Yishang Racing’s Edison Huang. Huang was again second in the season finale with Cheng third.
Cheng’s team-mate, Wei Shibin, enjoyed a superb weekend on what was his first event after switching from an FK7 Civic to the newer FL5 model. He qualified on pole position in Class B and not only won the class twice, but did so in second place overall each time.
In the battle for the overall title, FIST-Team AAI’s Shi Shiwei arrived locked in a head-to-head scrap in the points table. He qualified second, but finished third in Saturday’s opener, meaning a victory would be necessary on Sunday to secure the crown.
Unfortunately, a technical issue slowed his progress in the finale. His was the second Class A car to reach the chequered flag, which secured the runner-up spot in the points.
Italian GT Championship
Nova Race ended the season with a double podium result at Monza as Leonardo Moncini returned to the team with which he won the 2022 crown and claimed a second-place finish with Daniele di Amato aboard the Pro class Honda NSX GT3 Evo 25.
Moncini and di Amato started third in Saturday’s race and ran competitively throughout. They added fifth on Sunday, having served a pitstop handicap as a result of their Race One success.
Luca Magnoni and Paolo Rocca drove a strong race to finish second in the Am class in Race One, but Rocca – who qualified on pole position for Race Two – was eliminated in a multi-car incident at the first corner.
Super Taikyu
M&K Racing scored another ST-TCR pole position at Okayama through the #97 Civic of Shinji Nakano, Mitsuhiro Endo and Jack Young and finished third in Sunday’s three-hour race.
After mid-race delays, Young climbed aboard with an hour to go 90 seconds behind the leader. A relentless charge brought the Irish driver to within 30s of the victory when the chequered flag fell.
The sister car, of Osamu Kondo, Kento Omiya and Koji Yamanishi, started fifth and finished fourth.
TCR Panama
The season finished at Autodromo Panama with the pair of Honda Civic Type R TCRs in attendance both finishing inside the top six.
Cejidsa Racing’s Ivan Salerno was sixth in Race One while AP Racing’s Sebastian Ng finished in the same position later in the day, while Salerno came home ninth.
